ABSENTEE BALLOTS/EARLY VOTING
Who Can Absentee Vote in Colorado?
Any registered voter may apply for an absentee ballot; there is no need
to provide a reason. Voters may vote absentee by mail or in person.
How Can I Acquire an Absentee Ballot?
The County Clerk's or Election Commission office will begin accepting
requests for absentee ballots by mail as early as January 1 of the
election year and not later than the close of business on the Friday
immediately preceding the election.
Each county also provides an early voter's polling place. Anyone who
wishes may apply and vote in person at a place designated by the county
clerk beginning 10 days before the Primary Election and 15 days before
the General Election or other November Election. Early voting ends at
the close of the business day on the Friday preceding the election. For
more information, voters should contact their county clerk.

How do I Return the Absentee Ballot and What is the Deadline?
Absentee ballots that are returned by mail must be received by 7:00
p.m. election day (The County Clerk will establish the place where
voters should return their absentee ballots).
Other Information on Absentee Voting in Colorado
Provisional Ballots: A voter claiming to be properly registered, but
whose qualifications to vote cannot be immediately established, is
entitled to vote a provisional ballot at either his/her precinct or at
the office of the county clerk and recorder. This might include a voter
who was inadvertently left off the registration list, a voter who
requested an absentee ballot but did not return the ballot to the
county clerk, or a voter with some other technicality which resulted in
that voter being denied the ability to vote. The provisional ballot
would be segregated for counting at a later time after registration
information is verified.
